What's Included in Your Website Build

Important: What's NOT Included

Your website build fee covers design and development only. The following must be purchased separately:

  • Domain Name: Annual registration ($10-20/year) - must be purchased before we start
  • Web Hosting: Monthly ($10-30/month) or annual hosting ($100-300/year) - must be set up before we start. Annual hosting is the best choice for established small businesses as it saves money and ensures uninterrupted service.
  • Email Services: Google Workspace or other professional email ($6-12/month per user)
  • Premium Plugins: Any specialized third-party plugins required for your site

Need help with setup? I'm happy to walk you through purchasing and setting up your domain and hosting, and can recommend the best options for your needs. You'll need to grant me access to begin development.

Why monthly maintenance matters: WordPress sites need regular updates for security, performance, and compatibility. Without maintenance, your site is vulnerable to hacking, slowdowns, and technical issues. Most clients find the peace of mind and hands-off approach well worth it.

How Payment Works

01

50% Deposit

Due before project start. This reserves your spot in my schedule and covers initial design and development work.

02

Work Begins

I start building your custom WordPress website, keeping you updated throughout the process with regular check-ins.

03

50% Final Payment

Due upon project completion, before the site goes live. Once paid, your site launches and you're ready to go!

Monthly Services: Maintenance plans are billed monthly, with the first month due upfront. For larger projects, payment plans may be available—let's discuss what works for your budget.

Why Custom WordPress vs. Templates?

You might be wondering: "Can't I just use Wix or buy a template for $50?" Sure, you could. But here's what you're actually getting with a custom-built WordPress site:

Stand Out, Don't Blend In

Templates look like everyone else. Custom design makes you memorable and positions you as a professional business worth trusting.

Built for Your Business

Every element is designed around your specific needs and goals—not forced into a template's limitations or generic layouts.

Faster & More Reliable

Hand-coded sites load faster and have fewer technical issues than bloated page builders with features you don't need dragging performance down.

SEO-Ready From Day One

Built with proper structure, clean code, and optimization that helps you rank in search engines—not fighting against template limitations.

Full Ownership & Control

With WordPress, you own your site completely. No platform lock-in like Wix or Squarespace where you're stuck if you want to switch.

Long-Term Investment

A quality website pays for itself in credibility, conversions, and customer trust. It's not an expense—it's an asset that grows with your business.

Common Questions

Can I get an exact quote?

Yes! After our initial consultation where we discuss your specific needs, I'll provide a detailed custom quote. Every project is unique, so I don't believe in one-size-fits-all pricing.

Do you work on Wix, Squarespace, or other builders?

No, I specialize exclusively in custom WordPress development. Builder platforms like Wix and Squarespace are templated solutions that limit customization and performance. I build everything from scratch in WordPress for maximum flexibility, speed, and SEO.

Do I need to buy hosting and a domain first?

Yes, your domain and hosting need to be purchased before we start, and I'll need access to begin development. Don't worry—I'm happy to walk you through the process and recommend the best options for your needs and budget.

Do you offer payment plans?

For larger projects, I'm open to discussing payment arrangements beyond the standard 50/50 split. Let's talk about what works for your budget during our consultation.

What if I need changes after launch?

Small tweaks within the first 30 days are included. After that, you can either sign up for monthly maintenance (which includes content updates) or pay hourly for as-needed support.

Is monthly maintenance required?

No, but it's highly recommended. Without regular maintenance, your site is vulnerable to security issues, compatibility problems, and performance issues. Most clients find the peace of mind and hands-off support well worth $100/month.

Can I cancel monthly maintenance anytime?

Yes, there's no long-term contract. You can cancel anytime with 30 days notice. No hassles, no commitments.

What happens if I don't like the design?

We'll work together through revisions until you're happy. I include revision rounds in every project to make sure you love the final result—your satisfaction is the priority.

Can rush delivery work for any project?

Rush delivery (under 4 weeks) is only available for smaller, simpler projects like basic 4-5 page sites. Larger or complex projects need adequate time and cannot be rushed without sacrificing quality.
