There's a pretty good chance you navigated here hoping to find out what the deal is with the name Cedar Madison. It may sound like two random words thrown together that have nothing to do with websites—and while you'd be almost right, there's actually a method to the madness.
I'll admit, I initially brainstormed some more normal, generic, even obvious names. But what fun is generic? I wanted something that felt luxurious and intentional, so after tossing around a few options (and laughing at some truly terrible ones), Cedar Madison stuck.
Here's why: Northern Minnesota is home for me, and there's something about the cedar log homes and cabins that dot the landscape—each piece of timber carefully chosen and stacked to create something beautiful, strong, and built to last. That philosophy—building with intention, from the ground up—is exactly how I approach custom websites.
Each line of code is like a carefully chosen piece of cedar: stacked one-by-one with care to build a digital home as unique as your business.
My Background
I'm from the Grand Rapids area, and my journey into web design started at 17 when I launched my first blog. What began as a creative outlet quickly became a passion as I taught myself WordPress, HTML, CSS, and everything in between—learning by doing, troubleshooting, and figuring it out myself.
I went on to graduate from the University of North Dakota with a degree in Marketing and a minor in Graphic Design, which gave me the perfect combination of both creative and strategic thinking. Today, I work in marketing and manage the website for a multi-million dollar company, where I've sharpened my skills in coding and building completely custom sites—just like this one!
I believe every small business deserves a professional, beautiful website that works as hard as they do. Too many talented entrepreneurs are held back by outdated, confusing, or generic websites that don't reflect the quality of their work.
